Hmmm.......
I just read a blog by someone that must have a really interesting life, Rayna777. Washougal, WA? Sounds like a place where nobody goes to for vacations.
On the subject of combat. Many people think of combat as negative. That it has military implications, and that killing is involved. True, it can. I have had military experience, I have lead troops into hostile situations, “to close with and destroy the enemy”. Some in other countries, some in the country I live in. The United States of America. AKA USA.
True Military Combat is not an easy thing to do. One can train, and train and train some more, and believe in their mind that when it comes, you can do it. As with most things, training is key.
My motto when I was a combat leader, was “Train as if it’s the real thing”, and "make it as real as possible." Okay…that kind of mind set got me into trouble, and many of the “Staff” officers and NCO’s did not like how I conducted my training. I remember one NCO asking me if I wanted to be an Officer or an Enlisted person?
I was taught in my Officer training to “Get out front!” and lead by example. I “believed”, to lead by example was to do a task or skill as well as or better then the individuals looking to me for leadership. And train them to do it better then I could.
Gonna end this line of ~blog~ and just say that “Combat” is more then a military thing.
Combat as listed in most American/English dictionaries says “to fight or contend against; oppose vigorously, to battle, or struggle.
I think that most people have heard of individuals or groups who are “combating” disease, hunger, poverty, ignorance, or other causes. This I think should shine a better light on the word combat.
In my opinion, I think that we should “combat” the Focusing of Life.
My! What is that?
I have been around, and traveled some. Nothing really spectacular, but I have had the privilege of visiting many US states and a few other countries. My shoulders have rubbed with poverty and wealth, uneducated and educated, Christian pios and pagan.
The point, observation, and most startling epiphany is, the most educated or specialized a persons training, focus and belief, the less they knew about just living and surviving.
I have seen Phd’s, MS, and other collaged educated, or specialized trained (i.e. Lawyers) who have absolutely no knowledge of taking care of themselves.
If there wasn’t a market, store, service center, or 911 phone available to them, they had no idea on what to do. Just sit and hope someone comes a long who does.
Yes. There are the exceptions, but very, very few.
I can quote verse and chapter here, and it’s not a pleasant reading so I am not going to list it.
So, combat the Focusing of Life, learn everything you can. Be prepared, don’t take life for granted, love, live and know how to do many things, not just drive a car or dial 911.
Yes, you can plant a sead that will grow and bear something that will feed you. If...you know how.
Sorry if I offended anyone. My effort here is to educate, enlighten and enhance the people that live on our Earth.
